Out of Focus Poem by Lin Blyth
Out of Focus
…. End of Story!
And now our drama’s at an end
And so our leave we’ll take.
We made the time to hang around
And bake a tasty cake – for the party.
Front of house sold lots of seats
We really have some dears;
Wayne and Linda cuddled up,
Leonard bored us all to tears.
The happy couple, Dave and Sue
Have found true love at last.
Helen spits feathers and can’t believe
Her courting days are past.
Bob and Kath are friends again
Despite his roving eye;
Evonne’s still nervous as can be
And Donal’s still quite sly.
Sue the prompt and Sue the props
Have packed up all their bags;
Marj’rie our brave director
Sighs and groans and nags.
She did her best – and we did too
To bring the script alive;
Perhaps another week or two
Or three or four or five
Would help us all to learn our lines
And bring us to full peak.
Although perhaps we’ve had enough
To last us all, this week.
And so we’ll leave you with a song
To send you on your way.
Pack up your troubles in your old kit bag
Until another day – next year!
Lin Blyth (aka Kath)
