Masham Players in comic form with Peter Gordon's Out of Focus
North Yorkshire-based Masham Players performed Peter Gordon's comedy Out Of Focus at Masham Town Hall on 18th, 19th and 20th of March 2010.
The amateur dramatic society, which founded in 1946 and has produced over 100 plays since then, is proud to present an abridged version of this fresh and funny farce based around village life.
When clashing associations have all booked the village hall for the same evening they have two choices: war or pooling their assorted and often dubious talents to bring off the village pantomime. With a cast of glorious characters, an assortment of dirty secrets and shifting alliances, Gordon’s comedy provided a night of laughter and entertainment.
Masham Players recruited three new members to act in this production. Chairman Ron Smith said: “It’s wonderful to see new people get involved. There are many roles within theatre both on and off set and amateur dramatics offers a great opportunity for new skills, fun, a wider social network and greater personal confidence.
“At Masham Players we don’t take ourselves seriously, but we do take community theatre seriously. It’s an important part of our cultural heritage and creativity.”
